Deputy CFO

We are looking for a Deputy Chief Financial Officer to support the Chief Financial Officer in managing the full spectrum of Finance and Accounting functions. The role is responsible for ensuring effective financial management, governance, compliance, and performance reporting, while providing leadership and support to the finance team.

Key Job Scope:

• Support the CFO in overseeing overall finance and accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
• Review financial statements, management reports, budgets, cash flow forecasts, and statutory submissions prior to CFO approval.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and performance monitoring against business plans.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, treasury matters, and foreign exchange exposure, and provide recommendations to management.
• Strengthen internal controls, financial policies, and governance processes to mitigate financial and operational risks.
• Support audits, tax matters, and statutory compliance, and liaise with auditors, banks, and relevant authorities.
• Oversee costing, cost control, and margin improvement initiatives in collaboration with operations.·       Provide leadership, guidance, and coaching to the finance team to enhance capability and performance.
• Act on behalf of the CFO during absence or as delegated.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification and membership with MIA / ACCA / CPA.
• Minimum 8–10 years of relevant Finance & Accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or commodity-based industries.
• At least 3–5 years in a senior or managerial role, with exposure to end-to-end finance functions.
• Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, internal controls, and statutory compliance.
• Experience working closely with senior management, auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and develop teams.
• Strategic mindset with hands-on execution capability and high integrity.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to relocate to Johor Bahru, the main work location for this role.
