Position Overview

We are looking for an entrepreneurial and high-caliber Deputy General Manager to lead and scale our Freight Forwarding operations and commercial growth in Thailand. This role will spearhead business development—with a strong strategic focus on the Semiconductor, High-Tech Electronics, Advanced Manufacturing, and Specialized/Chemical supply chains—while building robust operational capabilities, carrier networks, and a high-performing local team.

Key Responsibilities

Business Leadership & Strategic Growth

• Lead overall commercial strategy and freight forwarding operations in Thailand, driving P&L performance, revenue growth, and market expansion.
• Proactively capture opportunities from global supply chain shifts into Southeast Asia, targeting multinational corporations and Chinese enterprises establishing manufacturing hubs in Thailand.
• Spearhead vertical market penetration in the Semiconductor, Electronics, Automotive/EV, and High-Tech manufacturing sectors, as well as Milkyway’s core specialized/chemical logistics offerings.
• Act as the strategic liaison between Thailand operations, regional management, and China HQ to secure global accounts and joint cross-border projects.

Semiconductor & High-Tech Solution Design

• Drive end-to-end, customized logistics solutions tailored for high-value, time-critical, and temperature-sensitive semiconductor/electronic components.
• Formulate competitive tender proposals integrating air freight charters, specialized ocean freight, white-glove pickup/delivery, and secure chain-of-custody transport.
• Leverage Thailand Free Zone and Board of Investment privileges to deliver cost-effective and compliant bonded warehousing and transshipment solutions.

Carrier, Supplier & Customs Management

• Establish and nurture strategic alliances with major air carriers, ocean shipping lines, feeder operators, and local logistics vendors across Thailand and Southeast Asia.
• Lead freight procurement to secure prioritized capacity, competitive rate structures, and reliable service tiers.
• Oversee customs brokerage and compliance, maintaining strong operational relationships with Thai Customs, Port Authority of Thailand, and relevant regulatory bodies.

Operational Excellence & Compliance

• Supervise daily air and ocean freight forwarding operations, implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and rigorous KPI tracking.
• Uphold strict health, safety, and security standards, including DG/chemical cargo compliance and secure handling protocols for high-tech cargo.
• Champion digital transformation, paperless customs initiatives, and internal workflow optimizations to enhance operating productivity.

Team Leadership & Talent Development

• Build, mentor, and lead a dynamic, cross-cultural team across sales, pricing, customer service, and operations.
• Foster an organizational culture anchored on accountability, operational excellence, client centricity, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in international freight forwarding, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record and industry network in Semiconductor, Electronics, High-Tech, or Industrial/Chemical logistics in Thailand or Southeast Asia.
• Strong functional expertise in air & ocean freight, carrier procurement, tender management (RFQs), and P&L accountability.
• In-depth understanding of Thailand customs regulations, BOI privileges, and Free Zone operations.
• Fluent in English; professional working proficiency in Mandarin is strongly preferred to liaise with China HQ and Chinese enterprise clients; Thai language skills are a plus.
