Deputy General Manager (Local Market Development)

Job Requirements

1. Nationality & Core Criteria: Candidates with full working rights for Malaysia. Bachelor’s degree or above. Aged 40 or below and in good health.

2. Work Experience: Background in Engineering, Marketing, or related fields. Minimum of 4 years of experience in the Malaysian construction/engineering or related industries, including at least 2 years of market development experience for medium-to-large local projects.

3. Knowledge & Resources:

   • Must be highly familiar with Malaysian local project preliminary approval processes, government planning department operations, and local commercial laws/regulations.
   • Possess a solid network and strong social resources within local government authorities, key local developers, or industry stakeholders.

4. Language Skills:

   • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Melayu for local government interfacing.
   • Due to the frequent need to liaise, negotiate, and report directly to our corporate headquarters in China and manage cross-border stakeholders, full professional fluency in business Chinese (spoken and written) is required for this role.

Key Responsibilities

1. Local Stakeholder Engagement: Focus on building and maintaining high-level relationships with Malaysian government officials, key local developers, and strategic local partners.
2. Cross-Border Liaison: Manage relationships with international corporate clients and investors in Malaysia, acting as a key communication bridge between the local team and the overseas headquarters.
3. Public Relations & Intelligence: Deeply explore local government infrastructure needs and development blueprints to capture first-hand market insights and define local targets.
4. Permits & Compliance: Lead or guide the team through the submission and procurement of local government approvals, permits, land titles, and ensure full compliance in local operations.
5. Target Achievement: Collaborate with the management team to secure contracts and achieve annual local market development targets.
