Deputy Head Greenkeeper

DEPUTY HEAD GREENKEEPER VACANCY

City of Newcastle Golf Club is seeking a qualified, motivated and enthusiastic Greenkeeper to join our established course team as Deputy Head Greenkeeper. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a competitive salary of £35,000+, dependent on experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting the Head Greenkeeper with the day-to-day management and maintenance of the golf course.
• Organising and allocating daily tasks to the greenkeeping team in the Head Greenkeeper's absence.
• Supervising staff and ensuring work is completed efficiently and to the required standards.
• Maintaining the presentation and playing quality of greens, tees, fairways and surrounding areas.
• Bunker maintenance and preparation.
• Turf repairs and general course maintenance.
• Carrying out aeration, drainage and course renovation work.
• Ensuring the safe operation, daily checking and routine care of course machinery.
• Maintaining consistently high standards of course presentatio.

Normal working hours: 6am–2pm.
*Weekend and bank holiday work required on a rota.

Qualifications
Applicants must hold the following qualifications:

• NVQ Level 3 in Sports Turf Management.
• PA1, PA2 and PA6 pesticide application certificates. (Desirable)
