What they need

Deputy Manager

Full-time | 4-day working week | Fair share of monthly tips

We’re looking for a Deputy Manager to join our team;

This is a hands on role for someone who loves hospitality, enjoys leading a team, and knows that a great shift comes down to good people, good organisation and a little bit of common sense.

You’ll be working closely with the General Manager to make sure the team is supported, standards stay high and our guests have a brilliant experience from the moment they walk through the door.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting the Manager with the day to day running of the business.
  • Taking responsibility for shifts and making sure everything runs smoothly from open to close.
  • Leading, motivating and supporting the team on shift.
  • Helping to train and develop new and existing team members.
  • Making sure our service, food and cleanliness standards are consistently high.
  • Keeping an eye on staffing levels, breaks and rotas to make sure the shift is properly covered.
  • Dealing confidently and professionally with guest queries and resolving any issues that arise.
  • Helping to monitor stock, deliveries, wastage and general operational standards.
  • Supporting with opening and closing procedures, cash handling and daily checks.
  • Working alongside the Manager to achieve sales, service and operational targets.
  • Setting a positive example for the team basically, we expect you to lead from the front, not from the office!
  • Stepping up and taking charge when the Manager is off.

What we’re looking for

We’re after someone who:

  • Has previous experience in a hospitality supervisory or management role.
  • Is confident leading a team and making decisions.
  • Has a genuine passion for great service and looking after people.
  • Can keep a cool head when things get busy.
  • Is organised, reliable and isn't afraid to get stuck in.
  • Has good communication skills and knows how to get the best out of people.
  • Takes pride in standards and notices the little things.
  • Is comfortable taking responsibility and being accountable for their shift.
  • Understands that hospitality can be unpredictable — and can roll with it!

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is positive, approachable and enjoys being part of a team. We can teach systems and procedures; personality, attitude and a willingness to get stuck in are much harder to teach.

What we offer

A 4-day working week; because working hard doesn't mean you need to live at work.

A fair share of tips every month; the whole team contributes to the guest experience, so everyone should benefit from it.

Free food on shift for full working days; because nobody does their best work hungry.

Public car park nearby; making getting to work that little bit easier.

A supportive team environment; we're serious about doing a great job, but we're also here to enjoy ourselves.

Real opportunity to progress; this is a key role for someone who wants to develop their management skills and take the next step in their hospitality career.

The role in a nutshell

We need someone who can lead the team, look after our guests, keep standards high and help make sure the operation runs like a well oiled machine.

If you're the sort of person who can jump from sorting out a staffing issue to helping on the floor, then checking the toilets, calming a stressed team member and making sure the last table leaves happy all while keeping a smile on your face we'd love to hear from you.

Pay: £12.21-£14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 48.0 per week

Benefits:

  • Casual dress
  • Company pension
  • Discounted or free food
  • Employee discount
  • Free parking
  • On-site parking

Work Location: In person
