What they need

JOB SUMMARY

Ready for immediate start?

We are looking for a Deputy Manager to work alongside the Manager at our homes in Lincoln or Woodhall Spa.

This is the job where you learn to run a home. You will lead shifts, supervise the care team, take charge of care planning and medication, and stand in for the Manager when they are away.

We are a family-owned group, not a national chain, and we would far rather promote you than advertise again. If you are a strong Senior ready for the next step, or a Deputy who wants more responsibility than you are currently given, we should talk.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Manager in the day-to-day running of the home, and take charge in their absence.
  • Lead shifts, supervise the care team and set the standard on the floor.
  • Write, review and audit care plans, and make sure the team actually works to them.
  • Oversee medication practice - administration, stock, audits and competency checks.
  • Carry out supervisions, inductions and hands-on training with new starters.
  • Handle safeguarding concerns, accidents and incidents properly and promptly.
  • Keep records inspection-ready and help prepare the home for CQC.
  • Talk to families and professionals with confidence, and pass concerns up early.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • At least 2 years in a Senior Carer, Team Leader or Deputy Manager role in a care home.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care - or working towards it.
  • Confident administering and auditing medication.
  • Sound understanding of safeguarding, mental capacity and DoLS.
  • Comfortable writing care plans and records that stand up to scrutiny.
  • Able to lead a shift and hold a standard without falling out with people.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Desirable

  • Level 5 Diploma, or ready to start it - we will fund it.
  • Dementia and end-of-life care experience.
  • Experience with electronic care planning systems.
  • Rota or staffing experience.

This position is ideal for motivated individuals eager to develop their leadership capabilities while contributing to a vibrant learning environment. We value energetic professionals who thrive on making a positive difference through proactive management, teaching excellence, and continuous improvement efforts.

Right to work in the UK required; we are unable to offer visa sponsorship. Enhanced DBS check including the adult barred list, and satisfactory references, required. We are an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all backgrounds.
