What they need
Deputy Home Manager
£50,000–£60,000 per annum
We are partnering with an established care provider to recruit an experienced Deputy Home Manager.
This is a particularly interesting opportunity for a strong Deputy who enjoys being hands-on, developing teams and working closely alongside a Home Manager to drive meaningful improvements.
The home is currently rated Good by CQC, has strong occupancy and operates without agency usage. The focus moving forward is around strengthening compliance, upskilling the existing team and building a more positive, collaborative and accountable culture.
There is also an opportunity for an established Home Manager and Deputy partnership to make the move together, taking on the challenge as a team and shaping the leadership and culture of the home from the outset.
The Role
- Work closely with the Home Manager across the operational and clinical management of the home
- Play a key role in strengthening compliance, governance and overall quality
- Support the home in preparing for and maintaining strong CQC standards
- Provide visible, hands-on leadership to the wider care team
- Support the development and upskilling of existing colleagues
- Help build a positive culture centred around teamwork, accountability and high standards
- Lead and support audits, care planning, safeguarding, investigations and regulatory processes
- Support recruitment, induction, training and performance management
- Deputise for the Home Manager when required
Candidate Requirements
- Previous Deputy Manager, Clinical Lead or senior management experience within a nursing home environment
- Strong knowledge of CQC requirements and regulatory compliance
- Experience leading, developing and supporting care teams
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, investigations and quality assurance
- Experience within a turnaround or improvement environment would be advantageous
- Confident, resilient and able to positively challenge existing ways of working
- A visible and hands-on leadership style
- Nurse qualification would be advantageous, but is not essential
The Opportunity
This is more than a traditional Deputy position. It is an opportunity to work alongside a strong Home Manager and play a significant role in the turnaround and development of an established service.
For someone ambitious, there is genuine scope to make a visible impact, develop their leadership experience and progress their career within the wider organisation.
