Role Overview

We are seeking a Trade Reconciliation / Remediation Analyst to support a regulatory-driven remediation initiative focused on historical trade-level reconciliation.

This role will investigate trade discrepancies, identify root causes, and partner with Middle Office and other stakeholders to resolve issues. The ideal candidate has experience within Capital Markets, Derivatives, Collateral, Middle Office, Trade Operations, or Trade Reconciliation and understands how transactions move through the trade lifecycle.

This is not solely a repetitive reconciliation role. We are looking for someone who can review a discrepancy, work backward through the transaction, and determine what changed, where the break occurred, and why the records do not match.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform trade-level and portfolio reconciliation across historical financial transactions.
  • Investigate discrepancies between internal trade records and counterparty data.
  • Work backward through the trade lifecycle to identify the root cause of reconciliation breaks.
  • Research discrepancies involving trade economics, collateral, FX, curve/discounting, and other transaction attributes.
  • Partner with Middle Office and internal stakeholders to investigate and remediate trade issues.
  • Review historical transactions for potential errors, including incorrect charges or cost allocations.
  • Utilize Excel, TriOptima, email, and internal systems to research and document findings.
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation of reconciliation findings and remediation activities.
  • Work with large sets of financial and trade data while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience within Capital Markets, Derivatives, Collateral, Middle Office, Trade Operations, Trade Support, Reconciliation, or a related financial services function .
  • Understanding of financial transactions and the trade lifecycle .
  • Experience investigating reconciliation breaks, exceptions, discrepancies, or transactional issues.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills with the ability to identify the root cause of an issue rather than simply identify that a discrepancy exists.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience working with financial or transactional data.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to research complex historical transactions.
  • Ability to learn new processes, systems, and financial concepts quickly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with derivatives and derivative trade lifecycles .
  • Collateral Management, Middle Office, or Capital Markets Operations experience.
  • Experience with TriOptima or similar trade reconciliation platforms.
  • Knowledge of FX, collateral, curve/discounting, or other trade economics.
  • Experience supporting regulatory remediation, audit, reconciliation, exception management, or issue resolution initiatives.

Ideal Candidate

The strongest candidate will combine financial markets knowledge with an investigative mindset. You should be comfortable taking a trade discrepancy and determining why it occurred, including working across systems, data, counterparties, and internal teams to trace the issue through the transaction lifecycle.

Candidates with direct Derivatives, Collateral, Middle Office, Trade Operations, or Capital Markets experience are strongly preferred.
