Dermatologist - The Skin Centre, Gold Coast

Come and build the next thirty years with us

For thirty years The Skin Centre has looked after the skin of the Gold Coast.

Some of our patients have been coming to us for most of that time, and the referral relationships we have with local GPs and specialists were built one patient at a time over decades. That kind of trust cannot be manufactured, and it is the thing a Dermatologist joining us inherits from day one. You would be stepping into a full list and a respected team.

We are growing because we have to. Our books are full and our waitlist has stretched beyond twelve months. We are grateful for that trust, and we don't think it is fair to keep asking our patients to wait. We have amazing patients and they deserve nothing short of amazing Dermatologists.

We know there are many exceptional Dermatologists out there. We would love to meet the ones who might see themselves here.

The clinical work

The Gold Coast holds the unfortunate title of skin cancer capital of Australia, and you will see the full breadth and complexity of skin diseases here. We are the only practice on the Gold Coast offering Mohs Micrographic Surgery, with established hospital lists and our own in-house Mohs technicians, alongside a full spectrum of medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. You choose your own mix based on your preferences.

A practice that has always looked forward

From our early days we have been a research and technology practice at heart, and that has not changed. There is a real opportunity here to help shape medtech development and to have a hand in how dermatology care is delivered in the years ahead, through clinical trials, AI-assisted diagnostics and robotics, and, if it interests you, cosmeceutical research through our sister company Bloc Skincare.

In November 2027 we will open a purpose-built dermatology precinct at Mermaid Waters, designed around skin. Joining from January 2027 means arriving early enough to be properly established and to help shape how it comes together, from the clinical workflows to the way patients experience their care.

The Gold Coast

You already know it has beaches. Commute times are short, which is weeks of your life back every year. Strong schools, stunning homes and a growth trajectory few Australian cities can match.

Investment is already flowing into the 2032 South East Queensland Olympics infrastructure, the Health and Knowledge sector, the film and gaming sector, marine and boating, a rapidly growing space, rocket and drone industry, advanced manufacturing, and a fast-moving innovation economy.

Spouses' careers can genuinely thrive here, and children will grow up with real opportunities in front of them. We are happy to open our network to help.

Who this suits

You might be a graduate Dermatologist about to complete your FACD training, who wants a busy, well-supported practice with senior colleagues alongside you rather than a cold start. Or you might be an experienced Dermatologist ready to relocate for the lifestyle, the clinical breadth and the chance to help build something that lasts.

Come and see for yourself

Moving your life is a big decision. Coming to have a look is a small one.

We are happy to arrange a visit, a coffee, or a fly-up weekend to show you the practice, the city and the precinct site.

To start the conversation, contact Ashley Freeman (Managing Director) at [email protected] or call [0410 617 781](tel:0410 617 781), or apply through Seek and we will reach out discreetly.

Essential: Fellowship of the Australasian College of Dermatologists (FACD), or eligibility to complete it within a workable timeframe, and specialist registration (or eligibility) with AHPRA.
