Dermatologist

A dermatologist is a specialized medical doctor responsible for diagnosing, treating, and preventing conditions affecting the skin, hair, nails, and mucous membranes.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Care & Diagnosis: Evaluate patient symptoms, review medical histories, and perform physical examinations to diagnose acute or chronic skin diseases, infections, and skin cancers. [1]
• Treatment Planning: Prescribe systemic or topical medications, create ongoing management plans, and conduct follow-up evaluations. [1, 2]
• Clinical Procedures: Perform diagnostic skin biopsies, minor surgical excisions, cryosurgery, laser treatments, and various cosmetic procedures (such as chemical peels)
• Patient Education: Advise patients on proper daily skincare routines, sun protection, and preventive measures against skin ailments. [1, 2]
• Collaboration & Referrals: Coordinate with other healthcare professionals or refer patients to specialized medical fields when conditions require advanced cross-disciplinary management
• Core Requirements & Qualifications
• Medical Degree: Completion of an accredited medical degree (MBBS, MD, or DO) followed by a specialized residency in dermatology. [1, 2]
• Licensure & Certification: Valid state or national medical license to practice, with board certification or eligibility in dermatology. [1, 2]
• Clinical Skills: High proficiency with dermatological tools, strong manual dexterity, and analytical precision for biopsies and minor surgeries. [1, 2]
• Soft Skills: Excellent listening, interpersonal, and communication skills to explain complex diagnoses clearly to patients

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹140,000.00 per month
