About Us

Dogwood Dermatology is a new, independent dermatology practice opening in Staunton, VA, serving patients throughout the Shenandoah Valley. We're building a patient-focused, energetic, and caring team from the ground up and looking for Medical assistants to join us as a founding member of the clinical staff.

What You'll Do

*Room patients and prepare them for exams, procedures, and biopsies

*Assist the physician during medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology visits

*Take patient histories and document in the EHR

*Set up and assist with procedures (biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, etc.)

*Sterilize and maintain instruments and exam rooms

*Handle prescription refill requests and prior authorizations as needed

*Provide patient education on treatment plans and skin care instructions

*Support front-office workflow during peak times as needed

Qualifications

*Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred; will consider relevant clinical experience in lieu of certification

*Prior experience in dermatology or another specialty practice a plus, but not required

*Desire to work in a fast pace "on the go" environment

*Comfortable assisting with in office surgical procedures

*Strong communication skills and a calm, patient-first bedside manner

*Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced clinical setting

*Experience with EHR systems

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
