What they need

Trueline's client, a growing residential remodeling company with an established New Jersey presence and expanding showroom operations, is seeking a Design Administrative Assistant to join its team in Aberdeen and Red Bank, NJ. This is a great opportunity for an organized, customer-focused professional who brings strong administrative skills along with an eye for design and wants to support both the office and client-facing sides of a busy remodeling business.

What You'll Do as the Design Administrative Assistant:

  • Support the sales and design teams with day-to-day administrative and project coordination needs
  • Assist customers and team members with design-related questions, selections, samples, and showroom needs
  • Answer incoming phone calls and customer emails in a professional and responsive manner
  • Schedule estimates, consultations, appointments, and customer follow-ups
  • Maintain accurate customer and project information in the company's CRM
  • Organize contracts, project files, selections, and other important documentation
  • Help coordinate permits, vendor paperwork, and other project-related administrative tasks
  • Support daily showroom operations and help create an organized, welcoming experience for customers
  • Follow up with customers throughout the sales and pre-construction process
  • Assist with design-related responsibilities when needed and shift into broader administrative support when design activity is lighter
  • Help keep multiple projects, appointments, documents, and priorities moving at the same time
  • Collaborate closely with the sales, design, office, and project teams

Must-Haves as the Design Administrative Assistant:

  • Previous administrative, office coordination, customer service, or similar professional experience
  • Some experience or exposure to interior design, remodeling, home improvement, furnishings, cabinetry, or a related field
  • A strong eye for design and the ability to comfortably assist with design-oriented conversations and tasks
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A friendly, professional approach when working directly with homeowners
  • Confidence using computers, email, scheduling tools, and standard office software
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities without losing track of details or follow-up
  • Dependability, initiative, and a willingness to jump between administrative and design support responsibilities
  • Ability to work in and support operations across the Aberdeen and Red Bank locations

Nice-to-Haves as the Design Administrative Assistant:

  • Education, coursework, or professional experience in interior design
  • Experience working in a kitchen and bath, remodeling, construction, architecture, furniture, flooring, cabinetry, or home design environment
  • Previous experience supporting a sales or design team
  • Showroom or design center experience
  • Familiarity with materials, finishes, fixtures, cabinetry, or other residential design selections
  • Experience working with contractors, vendors, permits, or construction-related documentation
  • Experience with Jobber or another CRM/project management platform
  • Experience helping homeowners navigate selections or design decisions

Our Client Offers:

  • Competitive hourly compensation targeted in the mid-to-high $20s per hour, depending on relevant experience and design background
  • An opportunity to combine administrative strengths with an interest or background in interior design
  • Exposure to residential remodeling projects and the opportunity to expand your design and industry knowledge
  • A varied role where you can support customers, sales, design, and office operations rather than spending every day on the same tasks
  • The chance to join a growing company as it expands its office and showroom presence
  • A collaborative environment where organization, customer service, and design sense can make an immediate impact
  • Training and hands-on exposure to the company's systems, projects, customers, and processes
  • An opportunity to grow alongside an expanding residential remodeling business

Trueline and its clients are unabashed equal-opportunity employers committed to a diverse workforce. We welcome smart and ambitious applicants and recruit, refer, hire, place, and promote without regard to race, color, gender, religion, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, disability, age, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by federal or state law.
