Design and Development Engineer

Overview

Influx Measurements is a specialist equipment manufacturer based in Winchester, producing flow measurement and fire protection products for demanding applications. We're a small, technically focused team and we're looking for a Design Engineer to join us.

The role covers mechanical design and testing across the full product lifecycle, from production drawing and CNC-machined component design through to new product development and prototype testing.

What the role involves

• 2D and 3D design work in Autodesk Inventor
• Drawing production and revision control for manufactured components
• Supporting NPD projects from concept through to production
• Bench assembly and functional testing of prototype builds
• Design and build of test jigs and fixtures
• Working with third-party approval bodies (LPCB, FM Global) as part of the product certification process
• Working closely with the machining and assembly teams

What we're looking for

• A mechanical engineering background, whether through a degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent
• Competence in CAD, ideally Inventor or a parametric package you can transfer from
• Any hands-on interests outside of work, whether making, building, or fixing things, are always of interest to us
• Curiosity about how things work and why designs succeed or fail
• Experience with third-party certification processes is a bonus but not a requirement

Pay: £30,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
