Design and Printing Operator

About the role

The Design and Printing Operator is responsible for creating, adjusting, and executing high-quality print designs for various materials, including stickers, vinyl prints, and other digital and physical outputs. This role requires proficiency in graphic design software as well as hands-on operation of advanced printing machines. The ideal candidate will work closely with the production team to ensure all print projects are executed on time and to specification, managing both the creative and technical aspects of the job.

Key responsibilities

• Design and layout graphics for stickers, labels, and other print products using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Operate and manage printing equipment, including Fuji machines, vinyl cutters, and UV printers
• Prepare and adjust artwork files for various printing processes, ensuring accuracy and quality
• Set up, calibrate, and operate machines to meet production specifications, ensuring all prints are high quality
• Handle vinyl sticker printing, cutting, and application processes using vinyl cutting machines
• Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal functionality
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to design adjustments and machine operation
• Ensure that materials, designs, and processes align with production requirements and deadlines
• Perform production (copying, printing, laminating, etc.) and delivery of completed job orders; set-up and make plates for printing press as needed
• Coordinate with the team to prioritize tasks and ensure timely completion of all design and printing jobs

About you

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Experience operating printing machines such as Fuji printers, vinyl cutters, and UV printers
• Knowledge of sticker design, vinyl printing, and cutting processes
• Knowledge of a wide variety of computer programs (Mac & Windows) used in graphics design and production is an advantage
• Strong understanding of design principles and layout techniques
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve printing machine issues and make design adjustments
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and precision in both design and print production
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Diploma / Degree in Art/Design/Multimedia
