Design & Structural Manager (C&S)

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the preparation, checking, coordination, and revision of precast shop drawings, including reinforcement details, connection details, dimensions, sections, and fabrication requirements.
• Ensure all precast shop drawings are prepared accurately and in accordance with approved architectural and structural drawings, project specifications, and relevant standards.
• Coordinate with consultants, engineers, production teams, and project/site teams to resolve technical issues and discrepancies related to precast shop drawings.
• Review consultant comments and ensure all required revisions and amendments to precast shop drawings are properly incorporated.
• Ensure precast shop drawings are practical, constructible, and suitable for production and installation.
• Manage and monitor the shop drawing submission and approval process, ensuring drawings are submitted and revised within the required project timeline.
• Provide technical guidance to Design Engineers and Drafters in the preparation and development of precast shop drawings.
• Coordinate with the production team to ensure the approved shop drawings are properly translated into precast manufacturing requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering / Civil & Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• Professional Engineer (Ir.) registration with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in Civil & Structural Design, preferably with experience in the precast concrete / construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of structural design, reinforced concrete, precast concrete, structural detailing, and construction practices.
• Strong knowledge of relevant Malaysian Standards, Eurocodes, and engineering requirements.
• Proficient in relevant engineering and design software such as AutoCAD, STAAD.Pro, ETABS, Tekla, or equivalent.
• Experience in reviewing structural calculations, design drawings, shop drawings, and technical submissions.
• Strong technical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Good leadership and team management skills with the ability to lead Engineers and Drafting Teams.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills when dealing with consultants, clients, contractors, and internal teams.
• Able to manage multiple projects and work effectively under tight deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail with a practical and solution-oriented approach.
• Willing to travel to project sites when required.
