Design and Tooling Engineer

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• At least 3 years working experience in product and tooling design
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Fundamental insight on PCBA manufacturing
• Direct experience on product DFM and designing of tooling and fixtures
• In-depth knowledge of computer-aided drawing - AutoCAD, SolidWork
• Knowledge to use 3D printer (design the parts and operate the printer)
• Basic knowledge to run CNC machine and other equipment in tooling shop
• Expertise on reading and interpreting technical drawing, geometric tolerances and customer specification
• Excellent knowledge on Design for Manufacturing (DFM)

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create and review technical drawings, design and develop technical solutions for product and tooling
• Conduct product DFM, analyze the product design according to the company’s process capability and customer specific requirement
• Review of the preliminary RFQ package and provide proposals for necessary tooling and fixtures with effective and competitive prices
• Translate customer products and material technical drawing to the company’s equivalent technical drawing for internal and external applications
• Communicate technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Maintain and update existing tools for more effective and efficient methods
• Offer technical support to users and address their issues
• Provide design solutions and/or re-engineering of the product and tooling’s to be more competitive at lower prices
• Support Engineering for the establishment of New Development Projects
• Participate in cost reduction ideas, automation and KAIZEN projects
