Design Assistant Engineer/ Engineer

We are one of the largest lighting engineering solution providers with over 35 years working history in Hong Kong. In serving the specialized industries, we are looking for a high caliber to join our team.

Responsibilities:

1) Design Support and Documentation:

• Collaborate with clients, architects, and other stakeholders to conceptualize and develop innovative design solutions and specifications based on project requirements.
• Prepare initial sketches, models, and layouts, calculations, and specifications into detailed lighting design plans & documentations.
• Stay informed on industry trends and advancements to enhance design quality and innovate electrical engineering.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design logs, reports, and specifications.
• Create and update detailed design drawings using professional software (e.g., AutoCAD, AGI32).

2) Analysis, Testing & Component Selection:

• Perform engineering analyses to assess design feasibility, safety, and performance.
• Conduct prototype testing and analyzing results to validate design integrity and functionality.
• Evaluate materials for performance, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with suppliers to source materials and explore new technologies.

3) Compliance and Standards:

• Ensure designs adhere to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Conduct site visits and inspections adhere to compliance and quality standards.
• Participate in design reviews to identify opportunities for improvement and facilitate compliance checks.

4) Project Coordination & Collaboration:

• Assist in project scheduling, tracking milestones, and providing regular status updates to stakeholders.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, promoting effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical support and guidance to the project team throughout the design and construction phases.

Requirements:

• Associate/ Bachelor’s degree in Lighting Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in the construction or engineering sector, with a proven track record on construction, government, or infrastructure projects. (Fresh graduates are welcome to apply for the junior position.)
• Basic knowledge of lighting design, strong application in AutoCAD.
• Resourcefulness & experience in dealing with main contractors are highly preferred.
• Meticulous, self-initiative, well organized, and independent work is necessary.
• Team-oriented work attitude with eagerness to grow and upskill through cross-team collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Proficiency in PC skills e.g. advanced Excel, Words, PowerPoint.
• Good command in written & spoken English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
