About the role

Balfour Beatty is seeking a talented and driven Design Coordinator to join our Regional Civils team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping high-value infrastructure projects, leading the coordination of design during bid and pre-construction phases to deliver winning solutions.

You will lead, manage, and coordinate all aspects of bid and pre-construction commissions, ensuring that high-quality, competitive proposals are delivered in line with Balfour Beatty’s management systems, strategic objectives, and brand values.

What you'll be doing

As a Design Coordinator you will:

  • Lead and coordinate the design process across complex bid and pre-construction activities
  • Manage multi-disciplinary design teams to produce innovative, compliant, and cost-effective solutions
  • Ensure alignment with customer requirements, technical standards, and project constraints
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders
  • Support the development of winning strategies for tenders and framework opportunities
  • Ensure all design outputs are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
  • Contribute to risk management, value engineering, and buildability assessment.

Who we're looking for

You will have the following:

  • Proven experience in design coordination within civil engineering or infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of pre-construction and bid processes
  • Experience working with a variety of contract forms and procurement routes
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to lead and influence multi-disciplinary teams
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach with strong commercial awareness
