Role Overview

AECOM is seeking a Design Coordinator to manage engineering interface coordination, design reviews, and IFC readiness for utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects. The role serves as the primary link between engineering, construction, commissioning, and EPC stakeholders, ensuring timely design approvals, effective change management, and seamless project execution from design through handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate review and approval of solar layouts, SLDs, tracker/module mounting structure drawings, string plans, cable schedules, earthing and lightning protection systems, roads, drainage, SCADA, control systems, and MV interface designs.
• Manage RFIs, technical queries (TQs), design clarifications, and multidisciplinary engineering interfaces.
• Ensure approved IFC drawings and latest design revisions are available before construction activities commence.
• Track design changes, site modifications, deviations, and as-built documentation requirements in accordance with change control procedures.
• Coordinate engineering inputs required for commissioning dossiers, punch-list closure, and HOTO documentation.
• Review compliance with applicable Indian Standards (IS), IEC standards, CEA regulations, and utility/grid requirements.
• Escalate engineering issues and design constraints impacting construction sequence, project schedule, quality, or safety.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or related discipline.
• 7-10 years of engineering and design coordination experience in utility-scale solar or power infrastructure projects.
• Minimum 4 years of design review experience within PMC, Owner's Engineer, or similar consulting environments.
• Experience supporting large-scale solar projects (250 MW+), with exposure to mega solar parks preferred.
