Design Director - Data Center

We are partnering with a leading international organization involved in the design development and delivery of large-scale mission-critical infrastructure to appoint a Design Director - Data Center.

This role will be responsible for providing technical leadership across multiple complex projects, ensuring successful execution from planning and design through construction and handover. The position requires strong expertise in data center infrastructure, multidisciplinary coordination, stakeholder management, technical governance, and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical strategy and delivery for large-scale data center developments.
• Oversee design coordination across architecture, structural, MEP, civil and specialist disciplines.
• Ensure projects meet technical, operational, safety, quality and performance requirements.
• Drive constructability reviews and technical decision-making throughout project lifecycles.
• Provide leadership during design development, procurement, construction and commissioning stages.
• Manage technical risk, compliance requirements and quality assurance processes.
• Interface with clients, consultants, contractors and key project stakeholders.
• Support the implementation of sustainability, resilience and energy-efficiency objectives.
• Mentor project teams and contribute to the development of technical capabilities across the organization.
• Champion best practices, innovation and continuous improvement in project delivery.

Ideal Candidate

• Degree in Architecture, Engineering or a related Built Environment discipline.
• 15+ years of experience delivering Data Centers, Mission-Critical Facilities, Advanced Technology Facilities or similar complex infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of design management, technical coordination, construction methodologies and project execution.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams on large, complex developments.
• Working knowledge of international codes, standards and data center design principles.
• Exposure to sustainability and energy-performance initiatives within the built environment.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to influence project outcomes and drive technical excellence.
