About the Role

We are looking for an experienced CATIA Surface Modelling Engineer to join our Automotive Engineering team in Chennai. The candidate will be responsible for 3D surface modelling and design activities across multiple vehicle domains.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and modify 3D models and surfaces using CATIA.

Perform surface modelling for automotive components and vehicle systems.

Work across vehicle domains such as Trims, BIW, Vehicle Architecture and Chassis.

Create and update part, assembly and surface models based on design requirements.

Work on plastic, sheet metal/structural and casting components.

Interpret 2D drawings, design specifications and engineering requirements.

Ensure models meet dimensional, design and quality requirements.

Implement engineering changes and design modifications.

Coordinate with design, engineering and manufacturing teams.

Review designs and resolve modelling-related issues.

Follow CATIA modelling standards and project guidelines.

Complete assigned modelling activities within project timelines.

Required Skills

Strong hands-on experience in CATIA V5.

Good experience in surface modelling.

Automotive product design/development experience.

Experience in one or more vehicle domains: Trims, BIW, Chassis, Vehicle Architecture.

Knowledge of plastics, sheet metal/structures or castings.

Ability to understand engineering drawings and design requirements.

Preferred

Automotive OEM / vehicle product development experience.

Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams.

Education BE/B.Tech in Mechanical/Automobile/Production Engineering or equivalent.
