You’ll work closely with project teams, consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure designs meet project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. The role also provides opportunities to support site activities, resolve technical issues, and contribute to design and value engineering initiatives.

- Translate conceptual and tender designs into detailed construction drawings for mechanical and electrical systems, including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical power, lighting, ELV, and control systems.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g. local authority requirements, TNB, BOMBA, DOSH, MS, BS, IEC, or other applicable standards).
- Conduct design feasibility studies, load calculations, and system sizing to ensure technical accuracy, safety, and efficiency.
2. Coordination & Interface Management
- Coordinate with internal project teams, architects, structural engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure proper integration of M&E systems.
- Participate in design coordination meetings and resolve design clashes.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and authorities during design development, submission, and approval stages.
- Support value engineering initiatives to optimise design, cost, and construction efficiency.
3. Site & Construction Support
- Provide technical clarification and support during construction, including responding to site instructions and RFIs.
- Review shop drawings, material submissions, method statements, and technical proposals from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Conduct site visits when required to verify compliance with approved drawings and design intent.
- Assist in resolving design-related issues during installation, testing, and commissioning stages.
4. Documentation & Design Control
- Prepare and maintain proper design documentation, calculations, drawing revisions, and submission records.
- Ensure timely submission of drawings and documents in accordance with project schedules and document control procedures.
- Manage design changes and ensure proper documentation and communication to relevant parties.
- Support preparation of as-built drawings and final project documentation.
5. Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure M&E designs incorporate safety, health, environmental, and operational considerations.
- Support compliance with quality management systems, safety requirements, and project specifications.
- Identify potential design risks and propose appropriate mitigation measures.
6. Professional Conduct & Continuous Improvement
Keep updated with current M&E technologies, standards, and industry best practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to design processes and engineering practices.
- Perform any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by management, provided such duties are reasonable, lawful, and within the employee’s competency.
Requirements & Qualifications
