Design Engineer

Job Summary:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Design Engineer with experience in lighting pole design to join our Pole Division. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in SolidWorks and a strong understanding of design requirements for street lighting poles, decorative poles, and high masts used in public infrastructure and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and model lighting poles (street lighting poles, high masts, decorative poles, etc.) using SolidWorks.
• Create accurate 2D drawings, 3D models, and BOMs for manufacturing and costing.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (IS 2713, IS 875, IS 2062, etc.).
• Coordinate with a structural team or consultants for wind load calculations and pole stability checks.
• Work closely with the fabrication and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and design accuracy.
• Collaborate with the lighting fixture design team for integration and mounting compatibility.
• Optimize pole designs for material usage, strength, and aesthetics.
• Manage design changes and maintain revision control and documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in design, specifically in lighting pole or steel structure design.
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks/SolidEdge (3D modeling, Sheet Metal, Assembly & Drawing modules).
• Familiarity with fabrication techniques (bending, welding, galvanization, etc.).
• Good understanding of mild steel, hot dip galvanized steel, and surface coating processes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and client specs.
