Design Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a Design Engineer who will be responsible for developing, modifying, and improving engineering designs for molds, components, and related manufacturing requirements. The position will work closely with the Design Engineering, Mold Production, Manufacturing, Quality, and other related departments to ensure that designs are accurate, manufacturable, and compliant with customer and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and develop 2D and 3D engineering drawings and models for molds, components, and related parts.
• Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, BOMs, and other necessary engineering documents.
• Review customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirements and translate them into workable designs.
• Design and modify mold components and assemblies based on project requirements.
• Perform design revisions and improvements based on engineering changes, production feedback, and quality concerns.
• Ensure that designs are suitable for manufacturing, machining, assembly, and inspection.
• Coordinate with Mold Production, CNC Machining, EDM, QA, and other departments regarding design and manufacturing requirements.
• Conduct design reviews and identify potential design issues before production.
• Assist in resolving technical and design-related problems encountered during manufacturing and assembly.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and specifications.
• Maintain and organize engineering drawings, design files, revisions, and other technical documents.
• Support prototype, trial, and validation activities when required.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities related to product and mold design.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, engineering standards, quality requirements, and customer specifications.
• Perform other related engineering duties that may be assigned by the immediate superior.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Preferably with experience in mold design, tool design, mechanical design, or manufacturing engineering.
• Knowledgeable in 2D/3D CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX, CATIA, or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and technical documents.
• Knowledge of machining processes, mold components, materials, and manufacturing processes is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in preparing engineering designs and documentation.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to work in a manufacturing environment and coordinate closely with production personnel.
