Design Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing comprehensive designs for civil infrastructure projects, including stormwater management systems, pipelines, and other civil engineering solutions. Your expertise will contribute to the successful planning, modeling, and execution of projects that enhance community resilience and sustainability. Duties

• Develop detailed schematics and design drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and other CAD software to support civil infrastructure projects.
• Perform hydrological modeling and hydrologic analysis utilizing SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and other hydrological tools to evaluate stormwater systems and water treatment processes.
• Manage project scheduling to ensure timely delivery of design phases while coordinating with project managers and construction teams.
• Conduct site assessments including land surveying, construction inspection, and permitting phase involvement to ensure designs meet regulatory standards.
• Generate technical engineering reports that clearly communicate design concepts, hydrologic analyses, and project recommendations.
• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders through effective communication of project progress, technical details, and design solutions.
• Lead project teams by managing multiple tasks such as schematics development, GIS mapping with ArcGIS or GIS software, and managing civil infrastructure projects from conception through completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; professional engineering license preferred.
• Proven experience in civil infrastructure design with a strong background in stormwater management systems, pipelines, and water treatment facilities.
• Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit; familiarity with CAD standards is essential.
• Skilled in hydrological modeling tools such as SWMM, HEC-HMS/HEC-RAS for hydrologic analysis and stormwater system design.
• Experience managing projects within construction management environments; knowledge of construction estimating and scheduling is a plus.
• Strong understanding of land surveying techniques and permitting processes involved in civil infrastructure projects.
• Excellent technical writing skills for preparing reports, schematics, and documentation; capable of translating complex data into clear visuals and narratives.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively while managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of GIS platforms like ArcGIS for spatial analysis; experience with water systems modeling tools is desirable.

Pay: $71,072.12 - $85,592.23 per year
