DESIGN ENGINEER

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Design Engineer with over 5 years of expertise in storage tank design in accordance with API 650, as well as hands-on experience in piping, and structural design. The ideal candidate should be proficient in AutoCAD and capable of preparing technical specifications, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM), and providing technical support for estimation activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design above-ground welded storage tanks in accordance with API 650, UL 142 and related standards.
• Design and develop pressure and non-pressure silos, cutting bottles, surge tanks, and related structural components.
• Prepare piping layouts and structural support drawings as per project requirements.
• Prepare General Arrangement (GA) drawings, fabrication drawings, and detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
• Prepare and verify Bill of Materials (BOM) and Material Take-Off (MTO).
• Support the estimation department by providing technical specifications, GA drawings, and material details for costing.
• Review and verify third-party design calculations and ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable standards.
• Attend technical meetings with clients and consultants to clarify design and project requirements.
• Prepare and revise drawings as per client comments and project specifications.
• Coordinate with production, QA/QC, procurement, and site teams for smooth execution.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the design of storage tanks.
• Strong knowledge of tank design as per API 650.
• Experience in piping layouts and structural components.
• Experience in oil & gas or petrochemical industry projects is preferred
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting mandatory).
• Experience in BOM preparation and estimation support.
• Ability to review and validate third-party calculations.
• Good communication skills and ability to attend client meetings independently.

Pay: AED6,500.00 - AED7,000.00 per month
