Design Engineer

JJob Summary

We are looking for a Design Engineer with hands-on experience in CNC machine shop and precision engineering. The candidate will be responsible for developing manufacturing drawings, machine components, fixtures, tooling, and supporting production with design and technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D models for machine components, fixtures, tooling, and assemblies.
• Develop designs considering machining feasibility, tolerances, GD&T, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Prepare and maintain part drawings, assembly drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
• Work closely with CNC/VMC/HMC/VTL machining, production, quality, and inspection teams.
• Review drawings and identify design issues related to machinability, tool access, tolerances, and assembly.
• Support production in resolving design-related manufacturing issues and provide engineering modifications where required.
• Design and modify jigs, fixtures, special tools, and machine components as per requirements.
• Coordinate with the CNC programming and production teams for design feasibility and process requirements.
• Ensure drawings comply with required dimensions, tolerances, surface finish, GD&T, and customer specifications.
• Support new product development (NPD), prototype development, and engineering changes.
• Maintain proper revision control of drawings and engineering documents.
• Coordinate with customers/vendors when required for technical clarification.
• Participate in continuous improvement, cost reduction, and design optimization activities.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of CNC machining and manufacturing processes.
• Good understanding of VMC, HMC, CNC Turning/VTL, drilling, milling, grinding, etc.
• Knowledge of GD&T, fits & tolerances, surface finish, and engineering drawing standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and any one 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Solid Edge, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of machine components, cutting tools, fixtures, and tooling.
• Ability to interpret customer drawings and convert them into manufacturing-ready designs.
• Knowledge of material selection and machining considerations will be an added advantage.

Qualification

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering.
• Relevant experience in a CNC machine shop / precision engineering / manufacturing industry preferred.

Experience

5–7 years of relevant experience in mechanical design and CNC manufacturing.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
