DESIGN ENGINEER – IBS / DAS

Location: Mandaluyong

We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer with strong expertise in IBS (In-Building Solutions), DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems), and in-building wireless design. The ideal candidate should be capable of independently handling large-scale, high-density IBS/DAS projects and producing complete technical design deliverables.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Communications, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in IBS / DAS / in-building wireless design.
• Strong familiarity with Philippine mobile operator IBS design processes and acceptance requirements, particularly Globe, Smart, and DITO.
• Experience designing multi-operator shared IBS/DAS systems for large, high-density facilities such as: (Stadiums and arenas, Airports, Premium office towers, Large mixed-use developments)
• Able to independently handle the overall design of large-scale IBS/DAS projects.
• Proficient in iBwave for: Link budget, Radio planning, Coverage simulation, 2D/3D building modeling, Complete design deliverables
• Able to independently build and refine 2D/3D building models in iBwave or equivalent radio planning software.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and other IBS design software, including antenna layout, drawings, and design documentation.
• Strong knowledge of: IBS wireless networking, Active and passive DAS (Pico RRU / ADAS, Fiber DAS, Repeaters, Equipment selection and configuration, BOM preparation)
• Familiar with Philippine operator frequency bands: 700 / 900 / 1800 / 2100 / 2300 / 2500 / 2600 MHz.
• Familiar with wireless KPI targets such as RSRP, SINR, and RxLev used for network acceptance.
• Fluent in English, with the ability to prepare technical design documents and communicate with customers.
• Willing to travel across different regions as required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform IBS radio design for target buildings, including coverage demand analysis, iBwave simulation, equipment selection, and BOM preparation.
• Build and update building models in iBwave and produce complete design outputs, including: Coverage prediction maps, Schematics, Equipment lists, Parameter settings, Antenna layouts
• Coordinate with operator/customer design teams during design review and approval.
• Revise designs based on customer comments and requirements until final acceptance.
• Support site surveys, drive tests, and post-optimization activities.
• Analyze drive test results and incorporate findings into design optimization.
• Work closely with the Project Manager during site implementation.
• Troubleshoot installation and commissioning issues and provide necessary design adjustments on site.
• Maintain local design parameters, cost benchmarks, design standards, and reusable templates.
• Perform other technical and project-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Pay: Php30,000.00 - Php40,000.00 per month
