Our Contingent Workforce Solution (CWS) is one way we support Rolls-Royce. Acting as an extension of their recruitment teams, we connect them with skilled interim and temporary professionals, fostering workplaces where everyone can contribute and succeed.

On behalf of Rolls-Royce, who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs, we are looking for multiple Design Engineers to work 12 month contracts (hybrid) based at Rolls-Royce' Derby or Bristol facilities.

Purpose of the Role

  • Design and develop components and assemblies within gas turbine engine programmes.
  • Produce and modify 3D models and engineering definitions, supporting both new product introduction (NPI) and modifications to existing products.
  • Collaborate closely with subsystem teams, manufacturing engineers, and a wide range of stakeholders to translate requirements into robust engineering solutions.
  • Investigate design challenges, identify root causes of technical issues, and develop practical solutions.

As an Design Engineer, you will:

  • Create and modify 3D component and assembly models using NX CAD and associated engineering tools.
  • Design components within gas turbine engine structures and casings, supporting civil aerospace programmes.
  • Deliver design modifications to existing products.
  • Engage proactively with subsystem teams and stakeholders across the business to understand design requirements and technical constraints.
  • Work closely with manufacturing engineers to ensure designs are manufacturable and support efficient production.
  • Investigate design issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective engineering solutions.
  • Produce and maintain engineering documentation, models, drawings, and technical definitions.
  • Support design reviews and contribute technical expertise throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Drive continuous improvement by challenging existing solutions and identifying opportunities to enhance product performance and design processes.
