Design Engineer

NPP Engineering is a leading manufacturing firm specializing in high-precision automobile machinery parts. We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and sharp Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Engineering & Design team.

About the Role:

In this role, you will be responsible for translating product concepts and customer requirements into detailed 2D/3D CAD engineering drawings, preparing technical documentation, and supporting the design of mechanical components, jigs, and fixtures.

Key Responsibilities:

• 2D & 3D Drafting: Create accurate 2D engineering drawings, assembly drawings, and detailed 3D CAD models for automobile parts and machinery components.
• Tolerance & GD&T Application: Apply standard tolerances, dimensions, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) symbols according to manufacturing guidelines.
• Bill of Materials (BOM): Prepare and update standard Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical specification sheets for new and existing products.
• Design Revisions & ECN: Update existing drawings based on customer feedback, quality reports, or engineering change notices (ECN).
• Cross-Department Support: Work closely with the Tool Room, Production, and Quality teams to resolve dimensional or design-related queries during sample manufacturing.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Education: Diploma or B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical, Production, or Automobile Engineering.
• Experience: Freshers to 1 year of experience are welcome to apply.
• Mandatory Qualification:
• Certified Knowledge / Practical Expertise in Drafting & CAD Software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or NX CAD).
• Technical & Analytical Skills:
• Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and drafting standards.
• Basic understanding of metal manufacturing processes (Machining, Forging, Casting, Sheet Metal).
• Ability to use standard measuring instruments (Vernier Caliper, Micrometer) to verify drawing accuracy.
• Personal Traits: High attention to detail, quick learner, good communication skills, and a strong problem-solving mindset.
