What they need
Job Title
Design Engineer – SolidWorks
Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and skilled Design Engineer with advanced expertise in SolidWorks to join our product development team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between physical concepts and digital production & primary focus will be reverse engineering existing components and driving prototype designing from initial concepts through to functional testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Reverse Engineering
- Deconstruct physical products using 3D scanners, calipers, micrometres, and other metrology tools to create highly accurate digital replicas.
- Translate complex scan data (mesh/point clouds) into fully parametric, editable 3D SolidWorks models.
- Analyze existing designs to identify material types, manufacturing methods, and operational tolerances.
- Prototype Designing & Development
- Develop 3D models and assemblies from initial hand sketches, design briefs, or conceptual ideas.
- Design for Outstanding Manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA), ensuring prototypes can be scaled for production (injection molding, sheet metal, CNC machining, or 3D printing).
- 3D Modelling & Drafting: Create complex 3D parts, large assemblies, and 2D production/manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM/DFA): Apply DFM, DFA, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles to ensure designs are optimized for production.
- Engineering Calculations: Perform strength, fit, and tolerance stack-up analyses.
- Bill of Materials (BOM): Prepare and maintain accurate BOMs, revision logs, and technical documentation.
- Prototyping & Testing: Support physical prototype builds, design validation (DVP), and root-cause analysis for field or test failures.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing, quality, procurement, and client teams to resolve shop-floor or design-related queries.
- Engineering Change Management (ECM): Handle ECOs (Engineering Change Orders) and update legacy designs.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or a related engineering field).
- Experience: 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design or special purpose machine (SPM)/component manufacturing.
- Software Proficiency:
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (Part modeling, Assembly, Sheet Metal, Weldments, and Detailing).
- Working knowledge of FEA/Simulation tools (SolidWorks Simulation) is a plus.
- Familiarity with 2D drafting tools like AutoCAD.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Strong grasp of mechanical design principles, material selection, and manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, casting, or injection molding).
- Proficiency in GD&T and tolerance analysis.
- Suitable profile can revert to HR in 7397755053
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
Benefits:
- Paid sick time
- Provident Fund
