We are hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in SolidWorks, AutoCAD Plant 3D, P&ID development, piping design, and ASME standards. The role involves creating 3D models, fabrication drawings, assemblies, and process piping layouts for industrial equipment. Strong experience in mechanical design, GD&T, and multi-part assemblies is required.

Note: This is a full-time night-shift role supporting US business hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and draft 3D parts and assemblies for 2D drawings, layouts, and dimensioned assembly and part drawings in accordance with company, industry, and customer standards. Steel vessels, blowers, heat exchangers, and associated piping will all be assembled.
• Must have extensive experience designing piping P&ID drawings, pipe routing, valves, instruments, and pipe standards such as ASME B31.3 and B16.5 flanges.
• Must be able to work with US engineering standards and ISO metric measurements.
• CAD Software Operation: Proficiently use CAD software programs such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD Plant 3D to create accurate drawings and models, as well as visualize 3D finished products in a 2D drafting environment.
• Dimensioning and Annotation: Include dimensions, annotations, and BOMs in drawings to convey critical information for manufacturing and assembly.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other designers, sales, production, and customers to ensure that designs meet customer requirements and quality standards via email, Teams, and phone.
• Revision Management: Track design changes and revisions and update drawings as needed.
• Quality Assurance: Verify the accuracy and completeness of drawings to ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and project specifications. Train as a backup for design review QC processes.
• File Management: Organize and maintain CAD files using proper naming conventions and version control.
• Training and Skill Development: Keep up with the latest CAD software features and automation to improve skills and productivity.

Required Skills:

• B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Certified SolidWorks Professional.
• Certified in AutoCAD Plant 3D & P&ID.
• A degree in drafting technology is a plus.
• ASME print reading and GD&T fundamentals.
• 2D and 3D conceptual design and visualization skills using templates, standard and custom hardware.
• Ability to review designs for quality control.
• Proficient in SolidWorks with 3D modeling experience.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to design intermediate to complex multi-part assemblies.
• 4-7 years of multi-part assembly design experience is preferred.
• Must be proficient with computers and file systems.
• Understanding and experience working with metal fabricators and welding is a plus.
