DESIGN ENGINEER

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and develop civil, structural, and building design drawings, layouts, details, and technical specifications.
• Perform engineering design calculations and assessments for structural elements, foundations, and other building components, where applicable.
• Coordinate architectural, structural, and civil engineering designs to ensure design compatibility and minimise clashes between disciplines.
• Review architectural plans, structural drawings, construction details, and technical submissions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant engineering standards, building codes, local authority requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Liaise with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve design discrepancies and technical issues.
• Conduct site visits and assessments to verify site conditions and provide technical solutions for design-related issues during construction.
• Prepare design reports, technical documentation, material specifications, and submissions for approval by clients, consultants, or relevant authorities.
• Identify potential design risks and propose practical, safe, and cost-effective engineering solutions.
• Review and revise designs based on project requirements, site conditions, consultant feedback, and construction changes.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering.
• Relevant experience in civil, structural, or building design, preferably involving building construction or property development projects.
• Experience in hotel, resort, commercial building, or hospitality-related development projects will be an added advantage.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and other relevant design software. Knowledge of Revit, Civil 3D, or structural analysis software will be an advantage.
• Ability to read, interpret, and prepare engineering drawings, design calculations, and technical specifications.
• Good understanding of civil and structural engineering principles, building construction methods, and relevant design standards.
• Strong analytical, technical problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with architects, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Able to work independently, manage multiple design tasks, and meet project deadlines.
