Design Engineer

The Design Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and improvement of products and components from concept through production. This role applies engineering principles, CAD tools, and cross functional collaboration to ensure designs meet performance, quality, cost, safety, and manufacturability requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new products, components, or systems based on customer requirements, internal specifications, and applicable standards
• Create and maintain detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software
• Perform engineering analyses
• Support prototype builds, testing, and design verification and validation activities
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and operations to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback to improve product performance and reliability
• Manage engineering change requests (ECRs/ECOs) and maintain accurate documentation
• Support continuous improvement, cost reduction, and standardization standards
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards, safety regulations, and company procedures
• Provide technical support to internal teams, customers, or suppliers
• Identify opportunities for improvement within department process
• Attend training sessions regularly to continue professional growth and development

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
• 2+ years of design engineering experience
• Proficiency with CAD software and engineering documentation standards (SolidWorks experience preferred)
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, materials, and manufacturing processes
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills
