Design Engineer, Design Systems

For our client, we are seeking a Design Engineer, Design Systems to join the team of a leader in the Hospitality & Recreation space.

This role will focus on advancing the company’s design system capabilities and improving the tools that support product design and development workflows. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable front-end solutions, strengthen consistency across the user experience, and help bring new ideas from concept through launch. The position also combines hands-on engineering with support responsibilities and a strong emphasis on collaboration, quality, and operational reliability.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $320,000 – $500,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Contribute to and maintain design component libraries and capabilities using React
• Implement AI solutions to enhance product design workflows
• Execute projects from ideation through rollout
• Conduct user research to inform feature prioritization
• Independently complete medium to large features with limited guidance
• Resolve support requests related to the design system portfolio
• Maintain design system integrity through collaboration with other teams
• Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure SLAs are met

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in software design, building, and shipping
• Familiarity with single-page application architecture and design
• Experience with GraphQL and REST API data fetching
• Knowledge of client-side instrumentation and observability
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Node.js
• Ability to create well-documented code and debug software
• Strong communication skills to engage with team members and partners
