Design Engineer (Frontend / 3D / AI-Native)

The Role

You are not a traditional developer, nor are you just a static designer. You are a Creative Technologist who occupies the sweet spot between a premium UI/UX designer and a highly advanced Frontend Engineer.

Your mission is to completely eliminate static design handoffs. You will use Figma to map visions, harness AI tools to speed up production, and use WebGL/Three.js to render hyper-realistic 3D models of our formulations, liquid textures, and product bottles directly in the browser.

What You’ll Do

• Immersive 3D Web Experiences: Own the integration of 3D elements on our web platform. You will implement, optimize, and render interactive 3D product models (GLTF/GLB formats) using Three.js / React Three Fiber, ensuring smooth 60fps performance across both desktop and mobile devices.
• AI-Accelerated Engineering: Seamlessly integrate modern AI-assisted workflows (e.g., GitHub Copilot, v0, Cursor, Figma AI) into your daily routine to automate boilerplate layouts and component mechanics, allowing you to focus your time on high-impact custom interactions, 3D shaders, and logic.
• Craft the Premium E-Commerce Experience: Design and build hyper-fluid web experiences for Pitanium.com, focusing on interactive product selectors, texture customizers, and premium user flows.
• Code our Visual Identity: Build, maintain, and scale our digital Design System—ensuring PITANIUM's distinctive bold typography, colors, and motion designs translate beautifully into clean, reusable React/TypeScript code components.
• Optimize for Peak Performance: Ensure our heavy asset pages (3D/Video) run at lightning-fast speeds, targeting top-tier Core Web Vitals to maximize engagement for our global audience.

What We’re Looking For

• The Immersive Tech Mindset: A strong portfolio demonstrating stunning digital UI/UX product design sensibilities alongside deeply interactive 3D web implementations.

• Technical Stack:

  • Proficient in React / Next.js and TypeScript.
  • Deep experience with WebGL frameworks, specifically Three.js, React Three Fiber (R3F), or custom GLSL shaders.
  • Complete mastery of responsive styling and fluid animations (Tailwind CSS, Framer Motion, or GSAP).

• Design & 3D Competencies:

  • High proficiency in Figma (mastery of auto-layout, component variants, and dynamic prototyping).
  • Comfort handling, optimizing, and compressing 3D assets (GLTF, GLB) exported from Blender or Cinema4D for lightweight web rendering.

• AI Tool Fluency: Highly efficient at prompt-engineering and orchestrating AI development tools to accelerate workflow speeds by 3x–5x.

• Experience: 2+ years of professional experience as a Design Engineer, UX Engineer, or Creative Frontend Developer.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience writing custom fragment/vertex shaders for fluid, liquid, or glass simulation textures.
• Experience building interactive UI components for headless e-commerce architectures (Shopify Hydrogen, etc.).
• Understanding of WebGPU and future-proof web rendering technologies.
