- · Product Design Support: Develop and evaluate components, mechanisms, interfaces, and packaging under technical direction, considering materials, seals, springs, fasteners, connectors, pressure, flow, temperature, vibration, life, and manufacturability.
- · CAD and Drawings: Create and revise 3D models, layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, bills of material, and supporting design documentation using applicable drafting, GD&T, and configuration-control requirements.
- · Engineering Analysis: Perform basic calculations and analyses involving pressure, force, stress, deflection, flow, thermal effects, tolerance stacks, materials, and similarity; document methods, assumptions, results, and required reviews.
- · Prototype and Test: Support prototype builds and development, qualification, similarity, and acceptance testing; prepare test setups and data sheets, collect and analyze data, document results, and assist with failure investigation.
- · Design Risk and Verification: Support DFMEAs, design reviews, trade studies, requirements traceability, verification matrices, and risk-retirement actions; incorporate approved review comments into controlled design outputs.
- · NPI and Production Support: Assist Manufacturing and Quality Engineering with DFM/DFA, first articles, production readiness, supplier questions, test failures, nonconformances, and corrective-action activities.
- · Configuration and Change Control: Prepare engineering releases and change documentation and help maintain alignment among drawings, specifications, BOMs, ERP records, analyses, and test evidence.
- · Project Execution: Complete assigned engineering tasks to agreed quality and schedule requirements, maintain action status, communicate risks promptly, and seek guidance when scope or technical complexity exceeds assigned authority.
- · Authority: Make routine technical recommendations within assigned scope; identify and elevate safety, quality, compliance, requirements, or design risks to the responsible engineer or management before release or implementation.
- ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- · Support technical research, vendor and component evaluations, RFQ inputs, estimates, presentations, and customer or supplier reviews.
- · Participate in laboratory, manufacturing-floor, design-review, and continuous-improvement activities and document assigned actions.
- · Develop working knowledge of Lourdes products, engineering procedures, configuration controls, customer requirements, and applicable aerospace and defense standards.
