Design Engineer Manager

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Design Engineer Manager to lead our innovative engineering design team. Duties

• Lead and manage a team of design engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance feedback to foster growth and excellence
• Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from initial concept, detailed design, to validation and production release
• Develop and review system schematics, CAD models, and technical documentation using tools like SolidWorks and CAD software
• Conduct root cause analysis on design issues, implementing corrective actions to optimize performance and reliability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, testing, and quality assurance to ensure seamless integration of designs
• Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to ensure precise manufacturing specifications
• Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets while maintaining adherence to industry standards and safety regulations
• Drive innovation by exploring new technologies such as LabVIEW for data acquisition and control systems or programmable logic controllers for automation solutions

Requirements

• Proven experience in leading engineering design teams within a mechanical or systems engineering environment
• Strong mechanical knowledge combined with expertise in system design principles
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks), MATLAB, Simulink, and LabVIEW for modeling, simulation, and data acquisition
• Hands-on experience with schematics development for electrical or control systems
• Knowledge of GD&T standards for precise component manufacturing and assembly
• Ability to perform root cause analysis on complex technical issues with effective problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation applications
• Excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts clearly across teams and stakeholders

Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
