Design Engineer (Solid Works)

Position: Design Engineer – SolidWorks
Department: Design & Engineering
Experience: 2–5 Years
Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Job Responsibilities:

• Create and modify 3D models, assemblies, and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
• Develop detailed designs based on customer requirements, specifications, and engineering standards.
• Prepare production drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
• Perform design calculations, material selection, and basic engineering analysis.
• Coordinate with production, purchase, quality, and project teams to ensure smooth execution.
• Review existing designs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and design improvement.
• Ensure designs meet required dimensions, tolerances, safety, and quality standards.
• Support prototype development, testing, and design validation.
• Incorporate engineering changes and maintain updated design documentation.
• Communicate with customers and vendors when required regarding technical specifications.

Required Skills:

• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks – Part, Assembly, and Drawing.
• Good knowledge of GD&T, engineering drawings, tolerances, and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of materials, fabrication, machining, sheet metal, and mechanical components.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office will be an added advantage.

Preferred Candidate:

• Mechanical Engineering background with practical design experience.
• Hands-on experience in SolidWorks and mechanical product/equipment design.
• Ability to work independently as well as with cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to work according to project deadlines.
