ROLE DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a skilled Design Engineer with experience in textile machinery, particularly flat-bed printing machines, rotary printing machines, and industrial equipment design.

The candidate will be responsible for 3D modeling, mechanical assembly design, manufacturing drawing preparation, BOM generation, and design modifications using Siemens Solid Edge 2024. The role requires close coordination with senior design engineers, production, fabrication, machining, assembly, and procurement teams to ensure accurate and timely release of engineering documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Machine & Equipment Design

·       Assist in the design and development of textile flat-bed printing machines and rotary printing machines.

·       Develop 3D models of machine components, subassemblies, frames, brackets, supports, shafts, rollers, and mounting arrangements.

·       Design mechanical components and assemblies based on engineering specifications and senior engineer guidance.

·       Support the development of machine layouts, drive mechanisms, roller assemblies, and material handling systems.

·       Modify existing machine designs to improve manufacturability, reliability, and performance.

·       Develop industrial equipment, fixtures, jigs, and auxiliary machine components as required.

Siemens Solid Edge 2024

·       Create 3D part models and machine assemblies using Siemens Solid Edge 2024.

·       Prepare 2D manufacturing drawings from 3D models.

·       Develop assembly drawings, exploded views, and general arrangement drawings.

·       Update CAD models and drawings based on design changes and production feedback.

·       Maintain proper part numbering, file organization, and drawing revision control.

Manufacturing Drawing Preparation

·       Prepare detailed drawings for machining, fabrication, welding, sheet metal, and assembly.

·       Specify dimensions, tolerances, fits, materials, surface finish, and finishing requirements.

·       Ensure drawings are clear, accurate, and suitable for manufacturing and inspection.

·       Review drawings for dimensional accuracy, component fitment, and assembly feasibility.

·       Incorporate corrections based on feedback from production and quality teams.

BOM Preparation

·       Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) for machine assemblies and subassemblies.

·       Include part numbers, descriptions, quantities, materials, and specifications.

·       Identify standard components, purchased items, fabricated parts, and machined components.

·       Coordinate with procurement and stores teams for component identification and specifications.

·       Update BOMs following engineering changes and design revisions.

Manufacturing & Assembly Support

·       Coordinate with manufacturing, fabrication, machining, and assembly teams.

·       Resolve basic design and drawing-related issues during production.

·       Support prototype development, machine assembly, inspection, and testing.

·       Participate in design reviews and implement corrections under senior engineer guidance.

·       Ensure timely completion of assigned design tasks and documentation.

Key Deliverables

·       Detailed manufacturing and fabrication drawings

·       Assembly and general arrangement drawings

·       Machine and subassembly BOMs

·       Updated design files and revision-controlled documentation

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications & Skills

·       B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

·       3–7 years of experience in mechanical design, machine design, or industrial equipment design

·       Hands-on proficiency in Siemens Solid Edge 2024

·       Experience in 3D modeling, assembly modeling, and 2D drafting

·       Knowledge of textile flat-bed and rotary printing machine design

·       Understanding of mechanical components such as shafts, bearings, gears, rollers, pulleys, belts, and fasteners

·       Knowledge of machining, fabrication, welding, and sheet metal manufacturing processes

·       Understanding of engineering materials, fits, tolerances, and surface finish requirements

·       Experience in manufacturing drawing preparation and BOM generation

·       Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications

·       Good problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills

Preferred Experience

·       Experience in textile printing machinery or textile processing equipment

·       Exposure to rotary printing machine assemblies and roller drive mechanisms

·       Experience in industrial machinery manufacturing and production support

·       Familiarity with engineering drawing standards and revision management

The ideal candidate should have practical mechanical design experience, strong Solid Edge 2024 skills, and an understanding of textile flat-bed and rotary printing machinery. The candidate must be capable of converting design concepts into accurate 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and BOMs while working effectively with senior engineers and manufacturing teams.
