Design Engineer - Toolroom

We are seeking an experienced Tool Design Engineer to join our Toolroom team. In this role, you will lead plastic injection mold design, prepare DFM (Design for Manufacturability) presentations for clients, create 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings, and support smooth transitions from tool development to production trials.

Key Responsibilities

• Mold & Tool Design: Create complete 3D CAD models, 2D assembly drawings, and component drawings for plastic injection molds.
• DFM & Client Technical Interface: Prepare and present DFM reports and tool design concepts directly to clients, selecting suitable steel materials to optimize tool life.
• Tooling Development & Trial Support: Assist in product and mold development, conduct checks to ensure program/tooling accuracy, and resolve technical design issues to ensure smooth production trials.
• Specifications & Procurement: Prepare mold specifications, checklists, and Purchase Requisitions (PR) for mold bases, steel materials, and tooling components.

Job Requirements

• Education: Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Tool & Die Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 5+ years of working experience in plastic injection tool design. (Liquid Silicone Rubber / LSR mold design knowledge is a strong added advantage).
• Software Skills: Hands-on proficiency in Unigraphics (Siemens UG / NX) and TopSolid CAD/CAM software.
• Technical Expertise: Deep technical understanding of plastic mold structures, steel material selection, mold making processes, and DFM concepts.

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM7,500.00 per month
