What they need

Design Engineer/Draughtsperson

Rotolok is a global market leader in rotary valves and valve technologies for the powder processing and bulk handling industries. We manufacture durable, reliable products which continue to deliver value for our customers throughout the product lifespan.

We invest in advanced machinery and seek out opportunities to reduce our carbon footprint, whilst our streamlined production flow allows us to deliver on-time.

We are proud to be a family business and work as a team, so all our employees feel a sense of inclusion, support and belonging.

If you are customer focussed, solutions orientated and strive for excellence then you could be just what our business is looking for.

As a Design Engineer/Draughtsperson you will be working to general engineering standards, providing technical support to other teams within the company, and will have direct involvement in the workshop ensuring production methods are incorporated into the design.

Relevant experience in, and knowledge of, the Bulk Handling Industry would be an advantage, but not a necessity. You will have a technical background with relevant qualifications and suitable experience in a mechanical engineering environment including the design of castings, fabrication, and machinery.

Our ideal candidate will be familiar with Autocad LT, or similar, and Solidworks 3D software. The applicant should be competent in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of programs.

Duties will include:

· Produce accurate 2D and 3D engineering drawings and technical documentation for the Fabrication and Machine Shop Teams in accordance with customers’ requirements

· Creating accurate general arrangements of bespoke valve designs based upon the client’s specification.

· Create parts and bill of materials within our ERP system, to assist in the assembly of our valves

· Review drawings and designs to ensure accuracy, manufacturability and compliance within relevant standards.

· Modify and revise existing drawings, maintaining accurate drawing records.

· Liaise with customers, suppliers and production personnel to resolve technical issues and clarify requirements.

· Maintain document control of drawing and model files

· Assist in the development and improvement of existing products, components and their manufacturing processes.

· Work to general engineering standards and provide technical support to other teams within the company

· Ensure all work complies with health and safety requirements, quality standards and company procedures.

Our ideal candidate will have excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage their workload with competing priorities and frequent interruptions.

You will have excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to quickly establish and where appropriate further develop effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders

It is essential that candidates are self-motivated with a desire to set high standards of work performance for themselves. You will need to be innovative and open to new ideas with the ability to find solutions to problems in an efficient and effective manner.

You will have a positive outlook and a ‘can do’ approach to tasks.
