Design Engineer/Sr. Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks and Autodesk Inventor.
• Design and develop plastic injection molded components, sheet metal parts, tooling solutions, and manufacturing-ready engineering documentation.
• Prepare and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering change requests, and design documentation. Perform design validation and manufacturability reviews (DFM/DFA).
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams during product development.
• Support prototype development, testing, product improvements, and new product development activities.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, GD&T requirements, and company design practices.
• Support product localization, cost optimization, and standardization initiatives.

Qualification, Competencies & Experience

• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and Autodesk Inventor for 3D modeling, assembly design, and manufacturing drawings.
• Knowledge on Tool & Die Design, Tool Design, Plastic Injection Molding, and Sheet Metal Design.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes, GD&T, tolerancing, DFM/DFA principles, and engineering documentation.
• Ability to independently execute design projects from concept to production.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail, quality-focused mindset, and ability to manage multiple projects within deadlines.

Qualifications and experience

• B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering; Tool & Die specialization preferred.
• Minimum 3-7 years of experience in mechanical product design and development.
• Mandatory experience in SolidWorks and/or Autodesk Inventor, Tool Design, Plastic Injection Molding, and Sheet Metal Design.
• Exposure to manufacturing environments, tooling development, and product lifecycle management is preferred.
• Knowledge of PDM/PLM systems and basic FEA will be an added advantage. Candidates with hands-on experience in mold design, tooling, and production support will be preferred.
