Design Manager

Our partner is seeking a visionary Design Manager with a refined eye for fashion and evolving style trends. This role calls for a creative leader who embodies quiet, tailored minimalism — blending modern structure, professional precision, and understated luxury. The successful candidate will balance artistic innovation with commercial strategy, guiding the design team to deliver collections that resonate with the brand’s identity and market positioning.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design the line Architecture & Balance of the line and upkeep a consistent brand position aiming at achieving sales growth.
• Oversee all design, merchandising and fabric development aspects of the line, including theme, color, fabrication, finishing, styles, price point, etc.
• Confirm styling and design details in initial fitting session, and follow through in subsequent fitting sessions until pre-production sample stage.
• Responsible for providing the comments on styling, concept and colour selection.
• Prepare Trends Script for presentation.
• Travel to overseas to attend trade show / market visit for inspiration.
• Conduct presentation of Collection to buyers on a seasonal basis.
• Lead and motivate the team including Senior Designers, Designers and Assistant Designers.
• Recruit, retain, develop and motivate talents who share our corporate values.

Qualifications:

• University Degree or Higher Diploma in Fashion Design, Textile or Clothing
• Around 8-year relevant experience in designing and product development of a comprehensive product range, preferably well-versed in knits and woven.  Experience in heading a design team will be an advantage.
• Be able to handle woven and knit wear collection design independently, have good fashion sense, fabric knowledge & market-oriented
• Understand market trends, lifestyles and customer needs for both HK and overseas markets (mainly in Asia)
• Creative with a fashion flair, yet pragmatic and highly results-oriented
• Expertise in the use & application of quality woven or knit fabric
• Familiar working with HK & other Asian suppliers / manufacturers
• Strong management and business skill set to lead the brand
• Good communication & presentation skills as well as leadership skill
• Good command of written and spoken English, Chinese & Putonghua
