Job Description – Design Manager (Bag Unit)

Location: Shanghai/Beijing/Guangzhou, China

Job Summary

The Design Manager will lead the design team in developing innovative and commercially viable bag designs. The role leads preparing design concepts, coordinating sample development, creating technical documents, and working closely with merchandising and production teams to ensure timely execution of new developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead designing and developing handbags, backpacks,travel bags, and other bag categories.

• Prepare design sketches, artwork, and technical drawings using design software.

• Create and update tech packs, including specifications, measurements, BOM, and construction details.

• Coordinate with the sampling team to ensure timely development of prototypes and samples.

• Follow up on sample corrections and ensure design requirements are implemented.

• Research market trends, materials, colors, trims, and hardware for new product development.

• Coordinate with merchandising and production teams to ensure design feasibility and timely execution.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Leather Design, Accessory Design, or a related field.

Experience

5-8 years of experience in bag design, leather goods, or accessories manufacturing.

Technical Skills

Good understanding of bag construction, stitching techniques, materials, trims, and hardware.

Knowledge of sample development and manufacturing processes.

Understanding of costing and product development.

Language skills: Mandarin, English
