About the role

We are seeking a Design Manager to join our architecture division in Makati City, Metro Manila, on a full-time basis. This is a strategic leadership position responsible for overseeing and directing all design activities across our project portfolio. As Design Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring that our projects meet the highest standards of architectural excellence, innovation, and client expectations. You will lead a team of designers and architects, manage design workflows, and work collaboratively with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to deliver exceptional results. This role is critical to maintaining our reputation as a forward-thinking design-led organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the design team, providing direction, mentorship, and support to ensure high-quality deliverables and professional development
• Oversee the design phase of projects from concept through detailed design documentation, ensuring compliance with client briefs and regulatory requirements
• Develop and refine design concepts, working closely with architects and designers to translate client vision into compelling design solutions
• Manage design budgets, timelines, and resources across multiple projects to ensure efficient delivery and cost-effectiveness
• Liaise with clients, project stakeholders, and external consultants to communicate design concepts and address feedback
• Ensure all design outputs meet industry standards, building codes, sustainability principles, and company quality benchmarks
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, and project management teams to facilitate seamless design-to-build transitions
• Review and approve design documentation, drawings, specifications, and technical deliverables
• Drive innovation and best practices in architectural design methodologies and digital tools
• Contribute to business development initiatives by supporting proposal preparation and design presentations

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related built environment discipline
• Professional Architecture license or equivalent qualification in the Philippines
• Minimum 10 years of experience in architectural design and project delivery, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management capacity
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex projects across commercial, High-rise, or mixed-use developments
• Strong proficiency in architectural design software and Building Information Modelling (BIM) tools
• Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire, mentor, and develop architectural professionals
• Exceptional design thinking and ability to balance aesthetic, functional, and commercial considerations
• Strong communication and presentation skills for engaging with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams
• Thorough understanding of building codes, regulations, and sustainability standards applicable in the Philippines
• Project management experience with demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources
• Problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering excellence
• Preferred experience in sustainable design, green building certification (LEED, BERDE), or innovative design methodologies
