Client-side Data Centre Design Manager

Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland | 5 Days Per Week

Salary: £90,000 - £110,000 + Bonus & Equity

A leading global digital infrastructure organisation is seeking an experienced Design Manager to support the delivery of major data centre developments in Northumberland. Working within a high-performing development and construction team, you will take ownership of design coordination across large-scale, mission-critical projects, helping drive delivery from early concept and planning stages through to construction and handover.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate design activities across data centre projects.
• Monitor project budgets, programmes and key deliverables.
• Liaise with consultants, contractors and technical teams to ensure coordinated design solutions.
• Support planning, permitting and site development activities.
• Review design outputs for quality, compliance and project requirements.
• Provide project updates, risk reports and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Assist with procurement, tender reviews and cost assessments.
• Manage change requests and support project controls.
• Lead design coordination meetings with clients, consultants and contractors.
• Support the successful delivery of multi-phase data centre developments.

Key Requirements:

• Degree-qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years' experience within design management, engineering, construction or project delivery
• Experience managing projects through the full project lifecycle
• Strong stakeholder management skills across consultants, contractors and technical teams
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and design/project platforms such as Bluebeam, Revit, BIM 360 and ACC.
• Data centre, mission-critical or complex infrastructure experience would be advantageous
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally as project requirements dictate.
