Design Manager - Transit Design Build

For our client, we are seeking a Design Manager - Transit Design Build to join the team of a leader in the Real Estate & Construction space.

This role will guide major transit design-build efforts, with a strong focus on client leadership, team coordination, and project delivery. The selected candidate will help shape strategy for complex pursuits while ensuring financial, schedule, and scope performance stay aligned with business objectives. This is a highly visible position that partners closely with leadership, project teams, and clients to advance large-scale infrastructure work.

Location: Boston, MA - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $286,607 – $457,827 annually

Responsibilities

• Develop and nurture key client relationships as the primary contact on projects
• Manage financial performance, including cash, budget, schedule, and project scope
• Set project priorities and engage resources through collaboration
• Collaborate with leadership to solve challenges and meet business objectives
• Supervise and mentor project teams, overseeing recruitment and development
• Lead pursuits of mega projects and develop long-term strategies with clients
• Prepare proposals and presentations, leading client interviews

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• 12 years of relevant experience
• 6 years managing mega and/or super mega projects
• Master's degree preferred
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification in multiple states, including California
• Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) certification preferred
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
