Design Technician

Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

Supports the design team by creating and updating 2D drawings, 3D models, and documentation under the direction of senior engineers and designers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create and revise 2D engineering drawings and 3D CAD models per customer and company specifications
• Maintain drawing files and revisions in the File / PDM system
• Generate BOM (bill of materials) & routers, update as needed in ERP system
• Print, distribute, and file engineering documents per document control procedures
• Support senior designers with drafting, formatting, and documentation tasks
• Check drawings for completeness and standard compliance
• Assist with physical part inspection and measurement when required
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate degree in Drafting/Design Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 2+ years CAD drafting experience
• Proficiency in 3D solid modeling software

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• SolidWorks experience
• PDM system experience
• GD&T knowledge

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

Office environment, some time spent on production floor.
