Designer and Estimator

Location: Winsford

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 per year, depending on experience

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

We are a small, friendly and established signage company looking for an Experienced Designer & Estimator to join our team.

The role will also involve regular site visits to measure and assess jobs, as well as working alongside our fitting team on installation projects. This is not a purely office-based design role and a practical understanding of signage installation, and how jobs are produced is important.

Key Responsibilities:

Producing accurate and competitive quotations for signage projects.

Visiting customer sites to measure and assess jobs prior to quoting.

Understanding customer requirements and advising on suitable signage solutions.

Designing signage and preparing artwork for customer approval and production.

Calculating materials, labour, installation and associated project costs.

Managing enquiries and following quotations through to completion.

Liaising with customers, suppliers and the production team.

Checking specifications and ensuring jobs are correctly prepared for manufacture.

Managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Regularly attending site and assisting the fitting team with signage installations.

Taking responsibility for ensuring work is accurately quoted, properly prepared and delivered to the required standard.

Identifying potential issues with jobs before production or installation.

Experience & Skills Required:

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience in a signage or closely related industry and be able to demonstrate a good understanding of how signage projects are designed, produced and installed.

Essential:

Previous experience in signage, graphics, print, shopfitting or a similar industry.

Experience producing quotations and estimates.

Experience measuring and assessing jobs on site.

Good understanding of signage materials, production methods and installation.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Good numerical and organizational skills.

Confident communicating with customers and suppliers.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

Practical approach and willingness to regularly assist with fitting and installation work.

Full UK driving license.
